Urinary Tract Infections

Our pharmacists can provide treatment for uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women aged from 18 to 65 years inclusive.

You are eligible for UTI treatment at a participating pharmacy if you are:

• female
• aged between 18 to 65 years (inclusive)
• displaying symptoms consistent with an uncomplicated UTI, which may include:
• burning or stinging (hurting) when you urinate, or a
• frequent or urgent need to urinate.

At your consultation with the pharmacist, you will be provided with a participant information sheet and asked additional screening questions. This is to ensure you receive the right treatment and care at an appropriate time.

Pharmacists will provide advice and treatment for uncomplicated UTIs (including antibiotic therapy if appropriate).  If you are displaying any symptoms of a serious infection, your pharmacist will refer you to your doctor (GP) or an Emergency Department.



Cost: $25 Consultation Fee + medication cost (Medication supplied by the pharmacist is not subsidised by the PBS).
